Rusticles

Being nicknamed around the agency anything to do with Rust, Rusty, Rusty nails right the way to Rusticles or similar, I wasn't at all surprised when I was sent this link.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment

I thought that this was quite a discovery and worth sharing.

1. This is the best Latin name ever; Halomonas titanicae.

2. I can only assume that the oxide from the iron means that the bacterium not only eats for food, but also to gain oxygen for aerobic respiration. Exciting! (may not actually eat the metal)

3. Evolutionary Microbiology - with cells multiplying and reproducing fast, evolution and mutations of strains can happen very quickly to ensure an organism can survive.

4. Assuming that the clever science people will be systematically accelerating the process, and subjecting the samples to modified environments to aid the strains evolution. Could we see a metal/seaweed eating bio-mineral Creature in the future?

5. An actual Mechtopus? or a Rustic Tentacle? (That's me by the way) Probably neither.

6. Suddenly Placey and Nat's Mechtopus creation for L&N is even more bang-on and a tad closer to reality.

7. I know what you're thinking; shut up Russ your weird! Whilst you may be right my point is this.

Making new connection with existing things can lead to great B2B creativity, this is fact. Never self edit, and never think that any idea is to out there because it probably isn't. Explore whatever comes into your head and share it with other, you never know you may just be a missing piece for ideas forming in their noggin.

Give it a go and go crazy.
