Media Square-owned communications agency, IAS SMARTS, is restructuring itself into two business units: IAS focusing on B2B work and SMARTS focusing purely on PR.
The changes will come into effect on 1 March.
IAS SMARTS is based in Bollington, a location dating back to the company’s acquisition of Tim Hazlehurst’s leading B2B agency IAS four years ago.
SMARTS will no longer have a presence in the North West. Its four operational offices will be in Belfast, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Birmingham.
IAS will, from 1 March, return back to its roots as a ‘full service’ B2B brand and communications agency headed up by Rob Morrice.
The agency was ranked last year by an industry journal as one of the top three B2B UK agencies. It currently employs 60 staff.
Morrice is believed to be considering opening a London IAS office, either through acquisition or by way of a start-up.
With renewed vigour and focus, Morrice has explicit objectives for IAS to become the UK’s leading B2B agency. With an unrivalled 35-year track record specialising exclusively in B2B, the agency also now looks ahead to establish a London foothold, either by acquisition or start up.
IAS’ specialist B2B public relations division will also remain at IAS and will be run by Lucy Bridle.
