Veolia Environmental Services, the UK’s leading waste management provider, needed to ensure their health & safety campaign would be taken on board by their employees. Although they have one of the best health & safety records in the waste sector, they wanted to specifically focus their campaign and increase awareness among all employees.

They needed to target staff through an engaging campaign using direct marketing and innovative media channels such as text-and-win competitions. Health & safety campaigns can have a tendency to exploit shock tactics, or sound nagging. We still needed to grab people's attention though. 'RAE', the crash dummy risk assessment expert was the way forward. Bright visuals and appropriate humour made the campaign engaging for all the right reasons. We made sure the message reached everyone with a poster campaign, a brand experience initiative, text-and-win competitions and an innovative marketing drive that used employees pay slips. The results of RAE's take it in campaign have been staggering. During the first two months of the campaign the commercial services division recorded zero LTIs (lost time incidents). And due to RAE's success, the campaign has spawned a new 'green' RAE, who's spreading the message about environmental issues.
